Yesterday, April 6th, at noon Juniper went into labour and this adorable little mini version of her was born in record time at 3:23pm. She weighed 223grams and is just the sweetest little tri-color girl 😍
With singletons you need to be sure that they are rotating between the seats at the milk bar so Mum doesn’t end up with any issues as well as trying to reproduce the effects of siblings pushing them around. Providing good traction is also important so that they get up on those little legs and start walking like a litter of puppies does. So I’ve been making plans and got some stuffed siblings for the little doll and was ready to step in last night to help but Juniper reminded me that she’s got this 😆
Juniper isn’t the type of Mum who coddles her babies, and because of this her pups are usually almost a week ahead of Maui’s in reaching their milestones. So this little cutie may not have siblings to deal with but her attentive Momma is going to check on and clean her while she’s nursing and push her to the next seat in the process lol.
Don’t need to worry about her not being very mobile either. I don’t really sleep very much for the first couple of weeks after puppies are born; every movement or squeak has me up checking to make sure they are okay and last night was no exception but I was honestly surprised by what I found. Juniper was flat on her back fast asleep and this little puppy who wasn’t even 12 hours old was standing up perfectly balanced on her tiny little legs happily having a drink at the milk bar! 🤣
So would you like to know what we’ve decided to call her?? In honor of this being the only possible puppy between Juniper & Cooper due to his retirement we are calling her Legacy. 💞

I did this post before the x-ray one but it doesn’t seem to have worked so lets try again…
So we have some sad news and happy news to share.
At the beginning of February both Kateri and Juniper came into season and we were able to breed them to a couple of gorgeous Euro males. Kateri to Charlie who was the Dad of Junipers last litter and Juniper to Cooper. Implantation happened and everything was going well until it was time for their ultrasounds to confirm that they were pregnant. I was able to see amniotic sacs on both scans but I wasn’t able to see any puppies on Kateri’s. I waited for a bit to see if perhaps our dates were off and maybe they were just too small yet but when I still wasn’t able too we took her to the vet for a professional scan. We were able to see sacs and placentas but still no puppies so that breeding was unsuccessful and we will have to wait and hopefully be able to meet some of her beautiful puppies in the future. 🥺
As you can see by this ultrasound Junipers breeding was and we could clearly see that she was pregnant which was wonderful since it was the last time that Cooper was being bred before he retired. When we took her in for her x-ray though we discovered that she was only going to have one puppy. We have always been blessed with 5 or 6 puppies each litter so have never had to consider all of the things which you do with a singleton litter. Thankfully I have some amazing mentors who are willing to share their knowledge and expertise on raising a litter of one. 🥰

Pretty easy to count how many puppies in this x-ray eh?! I was quite concerned when I first saw it because that 🐶 looks HUGE! When I looked back at her last x-ray though I was able to use her vertebrae to measure the pups and compare them to this one and they were actually almost the same this one just has way more room to stretch out lol.

This handsome boy is our tall male Aussie. He had his first birthday in February so we have been getting the rest of his health testing done and we will hopefully be welcoming some of his puppies this fall. 🥰
Our breed standard recognizes two height sizes in the Malagasy Coton. A standard size is less than 13 inches and Tall Cotons range from 14”-18” with some even getting up to 22 inches.
Aussie is now at 16.75” 💞
It’s been my dream from the beginning of this incredible journey to be able to help preserve these very rare, elegant sweethearts and I’m so excited that we are one step closer to welcoming our first tall puppy to WishView Acres!!

Sweet Jazzy Bear is enjoying green grass and sunshine with her wonderful family in California.
It’s always so cool to see when the puppies just seem to know exactly who their families are. I met up with Jazzy’s new Mum at a hotel. We had set up her food, water and potty area and she was on the floor exploring a little while we were visiting. Jazzy got tired and you would think that she would come to sleep by me, the person she had known her whole life, but as you can see by the last picture she knew who her human was and just wanted to be close to her. Such a smart baby!🥰
